Filling materials in which the air is enclosed (bubble film, for example) are unfavorable because the oxygen within the bubbles is not available for the heat pack and the animal. So don&#8217;t tape the heat pack shut.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">An air hole in the box directly on the heat pack may be advisable, especially in small boxes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">The activated carbon in the heat pack begins to heat up when you open the outer packaging of the heat pack and let air get to it.
